A LETTER FROM OUR PRESIDENT
Hi everyone!
My name is Kolby Kinnaman, and I am the Chapter President of the Delta Alpha chapter of Alpha Phi at East Carolina University!
At a university in Newport News, Virginia, three years ago, I made my way home to Alpha Phi. The sisters I went to school with were still encouraging and supporting me when I decided to transfer to East Carolina University. As soon as I heard that ECU was starting an Alpha Phi chapter, I jumped at the opportunity to join. In my excitement, I called my big from my old school and told her of the wonderful news that I had received. A couple of my sisters from CNU came to Greenville to help us with a meet-and-greet to explain why Alpha Phi is unique to them and to discuss what makes it so special. All Alpha Phi’s are bound together by our high ideals of character, generosity, innovation, and sisterhood, regardless of the school they attend or where life takes them.
If someone had told me three years ago that I would be in this position, I would have never believed them. The qualities that my sisters saw in me were qualities I had not been able to see in myself. They have encouraged, empowered, and given me more than enough confidence to be the best version of myself. The opportunity to be the first Chapter President and a founding member of the Delta Alpha chapter is one I will cherish forever. This is a beautiful group of women, and I cannot wait to watch them grow and develop into extraordinary individuals. As Alpha Phi’s, we believe we are stronger together.
The women of Delta Alpha have a unique opportunity as we create a chapter that I am confident will surpass all of our expectations as we establish our chapter. My experience with Alpha Phi has been incredible, and I would love to give that experience to each and every one of the women in Delta Alpha.
Our website is designed to bring you a glimpse of the sisterhood that means so much to us, and I hope you enjoy it!
